Filmed in 2001 in Merritt, BC, Churchill, Manitoba, and Rankin Inlet, Nunevut, the Snow Walker was a tough but rewarding film.
The story takes place in the Arctic in 1952 in both a small Northern town, and out on the tundra. Allisa's crew consisted of only 3 people, inclding herself, while they shot up north.
Kananlak's parka and fur pants were hand sewn with sinew thread in the traditonal inuit way by Allisa herself. The creation of the clothing for the leads in the town scenes were not only designed, but many were actually cut and sewn by Allisa as well.
It is still one of Allisa's favorite and most memorable projects to date.
